President - Kyle Ennis
Grad 2020 - Mechanical Engineering
Kyle is from Chico, California. He joined EWB at the beginning of his freshman year after hearing about one of his friends on campus going to Nicaragua to build an elementary school. He went on to become the Lead Fundraising Coordinator and Nicaragua Team Project Manager before becoming this year's President. His favorite memory with EWB is doing door-to-door surveys in the Nicaragua partner community, because he enjoyed getting the chance to hear about the community members' stories and views on local issues. For fun, he likes skiing, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, and going to the beach.
Vice President - Emma Stine
Grad 2020 - Mechanical Engineering, Masters in Agriculture
As a proud Idahoan, Emma loves hiking, camping, tater tots over fries, salsa dancing and people who don’t mind bad dancing. She joined EWB in order to find a group of students who strived to be ethical, globally minded, and compassionate professionals in their field. Her favorite EWB memory is going to her first conference through EWB and meeting all these awesome Cal Poly students and professionals, having thoughtful, critical conversations and playing ABBA when she turned 19 during the conference… to of course become a dancing queen.
Katie Otsuka - Secretary
Grad 2021 - Civil Engineering
Being from San Diego, water consciousness has always been a part of Katie's life. She joined EWB to help other communities gain better access to vital resources and and apply the principles she learns in class. Her favorite memories of EWB are getting to spend every Monday night with her best friends, now nicknamed "The Fab Four." In her free time, Katie likes to read, hike, bake, bike, and binge watch entire series on Netflix.
Lucia Gomes - Treasurer
Grad 2021 - Economics
Lucia is from Morgan Hill, CA. She joined EWB because she loves how the club incorporates helping people, forming cultural and community connections, as well as problem-solving. She has a passion for learning, and being part of EWB teaches her new things every day. Her favorite memory of EWB is planning the Agua for Nicaragua concert as an events lead during her first year. Outside of EWB, you can find Lucia working for ASI as an accounting student assistant, singing, eating, or waiting in line for coffee.
Ruchika Shukla - Public Relations Coordinator
Grad 2020 - Statistics
Ruchika is from Fremont, CA. She joined EWB because her friends said it was a good club. She went to one meeting, loved it, and never left. Her favorite memory from EWB is all of the funny spanish videos they watched to learn Spanish every week, and everyone trying to sing along. Her other passions besides EWB are math, drawing, cooking, reading, and hiking.
Olivia Weinbaum - Events Coordinator
Grad 2021 - Civil Engineering
Olivia is from Las Cruces, New Mexico and she joined EWB because she wants to help those in underdeveloped countries with their infrastructure issues. Her favorite memory of EWB is spending time with her best friends working on the project team and going on EWB's quarterly camping trips. She loves dancing and is a part of Urban Movement. She also loves working out, camping, and riding motorcycles.
Chris Grabow - Fundraising Lead
Grad 2021 - Civil Engineering
Chris is a third year Civil Engineering Major from Los Angeles, CA. He joined EWB to acquire real-world engineering experience while helping developing international communities. Chris’s favorite EWB memory is of all the camping trips and bonfires he has attended over the past couple years. Outside of EWB, he enjoys producing music and playing volleyball.
Karina Camp - Social Chair
Grad 2021 - Industrial Engineering
Karina is from San Diego, California. She joined EWB because of the impact the club has on communities around the world and the chance to make this global change through engineering. She is a member of Team Fiji and her favorite memories are spending time with the team during meetings and at socials. Outside of the club, she is super involved on campus and loves hiking, surfing, golf and going to concerts.
Ashley Masuda - Technology Coordinator
Grad 2021 - Computer Engineering
Ashley is a second year student from Oak Park, California. She joined EWB because she was interested in helping diverse communities with student-led engineering projects that would make a difference. Her favorite EWB memory is working and socializing with the Fiji Team during project meetings. Other hobbies of hers include basketball, piano, dance, drawing, and making games.
Julia Cannon - Media Coordinator
Grad 2021 - Civil Engineering
Julia joined EWB during her freshman year as a way of learning about and further expanding her understanding of global development work. As the Well & Pump Lead for the Nicaragua Team, she works closely with the other leads to remotely implement the water distribution system. She's also a part of the training team for the 900+ orientation leaders for the Week of Welcome. When she's not at school, taking pictures, or at Trader Joe's, you can find her trying to find cheap flights around the world or working at a coffee shop to fund said flights.
Elise Gooding - Membership Coordinator
Grad 2021 - Civil Engineering
Elise is a Civil Engineering student from Lake Stevens, Washington. She is a part of EWB because of the interdisciplinary learning opportunities. Her favorite memories include volunteering at the SLO Botanical Gardens with the Thailand team and participating in the EdGE course alongside other EWB members. Outside of EWB you can find her playing volleyball, climbing, or enjoying a cup of tea.
Simone Helfrich - Critical Global Engagement Coordinator
Grad 2021 - Biomedical Engineering
Simone is from Portland, OR and joined EWB as a freshman. She has spent the last two years with team Thailand, mainly focused on cultural research and community communication. She joined EWB to learn about engineering project development, engage with other cultures and communities, and to problem solve and discuss with peers outside of class. Her favorite memories with EWB have been all the wonderful and interesting conversations she has had with her team about development work. In her free time she loves making jewelry, stained glass, and music! When not in class or making something, you can find her camping or backpacking with her friends.
Michael Reyna - Fundraising Coordinator

Michael is a Mechanical Engineering student from Fresno who joined EWB to find a community of individuals who work hard to improve the quality of life of people regardless of location. His favorite parts of EWB are hiking, beach bonfires, and camping trips with the rest of the team. In his spare time he enjoys hikes, visiting the beach, going stargazing, and playing board games. He is currently considering a career in global development or renewable energy.
Molly Klausen - Fundraising Coordinator

Molly is an environmental engineer from San Diego, California. She joined Engineers Without Borders because she wanted to do something with engineering, and she was attracted to the sustainable and ethical development objectives of the club. Her favorite memories of EWB include going to the socials and seeing the different personalities of everyone during the project meetings. Outside of EWB, she loves to go camping and attend live music events.
Gaurav Joshi - IMPACT Coordinator

Gaurav Joshi is a second year Computer Science major from Pleasanton, California. He joined Engineers Without Borders because he wanted to help make a difference in his community while meeting many new people along the way. His favorite memory of EWB was the Impact Weekend in which many people across SLO came together to volunteer. Outside of EWB, he likes to play basketball and go on hikes.
Alex Cushing - IMPACT Coordinator

Alex is a second year Materials Engineering student from Los Altos, California. He joined Engineers Without Borders because he wanted to get more invested in the community he would be part of for four years. His favorite EWB memory was the weekend camping trip. Outside of studying for classes, you can find Alex at the gym or the newest restaurant in town.
Dong Joon Kim - Local Projects Team Project Manager

DJ’s hometown is Aliso Viejo, California. He originally joined EWB to play Ultimate Frisbee, but quickly fell in love with sustainable development as well as the impact we can have on local and international communities. One of his favorite things is to meet and work with people that are interested in getting involved with sustainability. His other passions include music production and watching excessive amounts of soccer.
Laila Schnebelt - Local Projects Team Project Manager
Grad 2021 - Industrial Engineering
Originally from Napa, California, Laila Schnebelt joined EWB because it largely consists of two of her favorite things: philanthropy and engineering. She wanted to find a way to combine her passion for serving others and technical skills learned at Cal Poly, and found the perfect fit in EWB. Her favorite memory in EWB is the Crash Course Reveal, when Local Projects got to meet all of their new members! Outside of EWB, Laila can be found hiking around SLO, napping at odd hours of the day, or trying new coffee spots with friends.
Zoe Lam - Fiji Team Project Manager

Zoe is a second year Mechanical Engineering student from Los Gatos, CA (Bay Area). She joined EWB because she wants to use her education to help others. Her favorite memory of EWB is going to Fiji, learning about the culture, living on island time, drinking out of coconuts and having an overall very successful second assessment trip. When Zoe isn't doing something for EWB, she loves to cook (roasted vegetables are her favorite!), talk about going surfing but never going because she gets too cold and doesn't know how, and getting lost in the woods!
Austin Marshall - Fiji Team Project Manager

Austin is from Novato, CA (Just north of San Francisco). He joined Engineers Without Boarders because he has a passion for both helping people, whether it's in our community or around the world, and working to find new solutions to technical problems. Some of his favorite memories with EWB include the Fiji team fundraisers and club social events like the camping trip. Outside of EWB, Austin enjoys photography, rock climbing, hiking, line dancing, and exploring new places.
Maggie Nevrly- Malawi Team Project Manager
Grad 2021 - Mechanical Engineering
Coming from the suburbs of Chicago, Maggie joined EWB to apply technical skills gained in the classroom to real-world settings but quickly learned that there are many other important facets of working on community-based projects that are not based in one's knowledge of engineering. Her favorite memories of EWB included developing models in the machine shops for a previous project with project team members as well as working with members of the community in the team's recent implementation trip to Malawi. When she's not EWBing, Maggie loves exploring the central coast by hike or bike, falling asleep reading, and dabbles in throwing really bad pottery.

Quynh is from Saratoga, CA near San Jose. She loves EWB because it is a place where herself and other students can learn about international development in an environment that is critical and continuously learning about our impact on the world and other nations. She has also formed a kind of family with her fellow members and doesn’t know what she’d would do without them. In her free time she likes to read, travel, eat bagels, and take long naps with her cat.
Dylan Merlo - Nicaragua Team Project Manager

Dylan is a graduate student doing research on disaster resiliency and risk mitigation. He is originally from Folsom, California and is a part of EWB to critically engage communities across the world. When not doing EWB work you can find him on the soccer field, in the climbing gym or watching soccer.
Andrea Leal Ruiz - Nicaragua Team Project Manager

Andrea is a second year Civil Engineering student from Tijuana, BC, MX and San Diego, CA. Her reasons for joining EWB can be summarized in the following quote: "When you get these jobs that you have so brilliantly trained for, just remember that your real job is that if you are free, you need to free somebody else. If you have some power, then your job is to empower somebody else. This is not just a grab-bag candy game." - Toni Morrison. Outside of EWB you can find Andrea at Front Porch, the Rec, the Dream Center, or using the PULSE Massage Chair!
Ruby Lang - Thailand Team Project Manager

Ruby is from Carbondale, Colorado. She joined EWB because she wanted to make a difference in the world. Her first trip to Thailand was her favorite EWB memory - the whole trip. She loves to ski, hike, camp, and do anything outside. When she is not doing school or EWB, she tries to be outside with her puppy Mabel.

Renee grew up in Washington State and joined EWB Cal Poly as a freshman because she wanted to use engineering to help others. Her favorite part of EWB was alumni weekend, getting to hear all the stories of past members and how EWB has shaped their lives. Outside of the club, Renee enjoys cooking, eating, and sleeping (a lot). She also loves the Nicaragua team. Renee has a passion for biopolymers and hopes to continue working in that field after college. But most of all, she loves EWB Cal Poly!

Sheel is from Bristol, Wisconsin, and joined EWB to to utilize his engineering skills to help others and meet friends who are also passionate in engineering to make an impactful difference. He is a member of team Fiji, working often with the fundaising and solar teams. His favorite memories of EWB are the social events, such as the campouts, bonfires, or BBQs. Some of his hobbies include running, dancing, and photography & videography.
