ABOUT THE kenya PROJECT
The Kenya team is collaborating with the market community of Masogo to implement a water distribution system. After completing a remote assessment in 2022, the team traveled to Kenya on their assessment trip this summer. The team collected data to assist in the design, ranging from community surveys and focus groups to water quality testing and hydrogeological surveying. Their goal is to drill a borehole, construct a water tower, and install taps and sinks for drinking water by this summer. In the future, they are looking to create a gravity water distribution system and shower and toilet systems. Over the next year, the team will be designing the borehole, a solar array, elevated water tower, taps, and sinks; finding companies to contract the work; and preparing for the implementation trip in Summer 2024.
